Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We also use your browser’s local storage, which works in a similar way, to remember your cookie choices. We ask before we use anything that is not strictly necessary.
When you first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept all, reject non-essential cookies, or choose by category. Nothing optional loads until you say yes. You can change your mind at any time:
| Category | What it does | Examples | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary Always on | Signing in to the members’ area, keeping your session secure, and remembering your cookie choices. | wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wordpress_test_cookie (sign-in); sfl_consent (your choices, in local storage) | Session, or up to 14 days if you tick “keep me signed in”; your choices until you change them |
| Analytics Optional | Anonymous counts of visits so we know which pages help. | [Analytics tool and cookie names to confirm] | [to confirm] |
| Embedded video Optional | The YouTube and Vimeo players for our films. They load only after you allow video, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and Vimeo’s “do not track” setting. | Set by YouTube (Google) and Vimeo when a film plays | Set by those services |
| Marketing Optional | Measuring our adverts on social media. | [None in use yet — tools to confirm before launch] | [to confirm] |
Payments happen on Stripe’s secure checkout pages, not on this website. Stripe sets its own cookies there for security and fraud prevention; see Stripe’s cookie policy.
How we use personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy. Questions: hello@skiforlife.co.uk [to confirm].
Starter text written for the website build. It must be reviewed by Sven and Lou’s legal adviser, and the placeholders in brackets completed, before the site goes live.
